Georgian College – Be Here Now

GBA co-founder Nicole Saulnier is proud to represent her Alma Mater Georgian College in their Be Here Now campaign!

In the Fall of 2014, Nicole was nominated by Georgian College for the prestigious Premier’s Award in the Business category.  When Georgian contacted Nicole this winter and asked if she’d be willing to share her story in a campaign to create awareness of Georgian’s great programming, she was thrilled to participate.

My father Herb Watson was the manager of Georgian Bay Airways, and Georgian Bay Ambulance about 60 years ago. I am wondering how there is a new cofounder of Georgian Bay Airways. Frank Powell used be the owner at one time. Possibly John David Eaton was involved before that. I am curious.

      Hello Mr. Watson,
Thank-you for your inquiry. The current Georgian Bay Airways has been operational since 2002, and the founders are Keith and Nicole Saulnier.
The Georgian Bay Airways that your father worked for closed in the 80’s.
Since they are different companies, I don’t have exact records of ownership, but yes, Frank Powell was one of the owners of the former company.
We love seeing the history of aviation in the area, so if you have any photos of your father at work, we’d love to make copies!
      Sincerely,
      Nicole
